Fire Science will prepare students interested in pursuing a career as a firefighter or EMT for this exciting, in-demand job field.  Students will be guided through instruction in Fire, EMS, technical rescue, and emergency vehicle operation.  Upon completion of the course, students will be eligible to test for state firefighter I and II cards as well as the EMT-basic state certification.  Successful completion of these certifications will qualify students for part-time work in most fire departments. Students are encouraged to continue their education by transferring into a paramedic program at a post-secondary institution of their choice in order to qualify for full-time employment.

The semester elective, Introduction to Fire Science (CT 205), is recommended for any freshmen or sophomores considering this course.
