Fairmont's Engineering program centers on developing better problem-solving skills by immersing students in real-world engineering problems. Each of the challenging courses uses project-based, hands-on experiences to teach students the key elements and skills of engineering and technology-based careers. Students will learn the skills of engineering design and implementation by creating solutions for competitions, NASA, community assistance, or partnered companies. Instruction and hands on activities will include CNC machining, welding, programming, design software, robotics, electronics, problem solving methods, and data based decision making. After graduation, scholarship opportunities are available toward Sinclair, Wright State, and University of Dayton.
The semester electives, Introduction to Engineering Design I and II (CT190 and CT290), are recommended for any freshmen or sophomores considering this course.
